Κατά τη διάρκεια του προγράμματος θα χρησιμοποιηθούν μέθοδοι μη τυπικής εκπαίδευσης και η γλώσσα εργασίας θα είναι τα Αγγλικά.

Short Description:

“Bodies without Borders” is a Youth Exchange project stems from the need to respond to a lack of information and awareness that young people are having with respect to the relationship between oneself and one’s body.

Among many young people the lack of awareness of the human body as an integral and positive part of their personality and their own stand in society is caused by different situations and backgrounds in different contexts often related with a lack of positive sexual education approach. Oppressive culture and taboos cause a disparities between quality and frequency of delivery of sexuality education in the EU Member States can be explained by cultural and religious traditions (incidence and influence of the Catholic and Protestant Churches, traditions, etc.) and financial issues (budget cuts in the public sector, incidence of the financial crisis).

Although improvements are done in this field lately, teenagers and young adults are getting most of the information from adult websites or gossip magazines, increasing their shyness, lack of confidence in themselves and lack of trust in their relations.

“Bodies without Borders” aims to promote, through informal and non-formal learning activities involving body language and art expression, a positive outlook and a greater awareness of human body, as a means of relational, communicative and artistic expression.

The project will enhance the young participants in many ways increasing their “body awareness” using body language as a tool to communicate better and express themselves in many different ways and contexts: families, universities, job etc.

The youth exchange is divided in 2 parts, both based on nonformal and artistic methods:
1. Getting to know our bodies through introspective activities and visual arts (painting & sculpture)
2. Getting to use our bodies through practical workshops and performing arts: theatre and dance

There will be a lot of space for informal learning, intercultural learning, open discussions, reflection and evaluation. Helping groups will be created for increasing the visibility of the
project, helping the kitchen and maintain the working places clean.
