Το πρόγραμμα διοργανώνεται από τον Σουηδικό οργανισμό Ungdomsfronten και φιλοξενείται από τον Ιταλικό οργανισμό Protegione Civile Gruppo Lucano και είναι πλήρως επιδοτούμενο από το πρόγραμμα Erasmus+ και επιστρέφονται ταξιδιωτικά έξοδα έως 275 ευρώ μετά το τέλος του προγράμματος. Υπάρχει μικρό κόστος συμμετοχής 30 ευρώ προς τον οργανισμό διοργάνωσης της Σουηδίας, τα οποία θα αφαιρεθούν από το σύνολο των ταξιδιωτικών εξόδων στη φάση της αποζημίωσης.

Κατά τη διάρκεια του προγράμματος θα χρησιμοποιηθούν μέθοδοι μη τυπικής εκπαίδευσης και η γλώσσα εργασίας θα είναι τα Αγγλικά.

Project summary:

Trekking provides a number of health benefits ranging from physical to mental to spiritual. Many studies demonstrated that trekking (among other outdoor activities) reduce stress, improves the health condition of the heart, tone up the muscles. It is inexpensive, simple to start and easy to adjust to any level of fitness. Trekking is not only about walking for hours but if performed by experts, it can be really a fantastic outdoor educational program.

The main aim of this YE is to encourage 36 youngsters from Sweden, Italy, Bulgaria, Portugal and Greece, to embrace a healthy lifestyle and to re-connect them to Nature by using trekking and nonformal education methods guided by experts.

KEY OBJECTIVES OF THE PROJECT:
• Stimulate physical activity and healthy lifestyle among the young participants;
• Raise awareness the participants about environmental issues (pollution, fire hazards, protection and preservation of natural habitats);
• Encourage teamwork, develop self-esteem and personal development of the participants;
• Stimulate problem-solving;
• Improve the level of key competencies and skills of youngsters (with fewer opportunities);
• Foster intercultural dialogue, social inclusion of young people active in youth work or youth organizations and youth leaders;
• Encourage the recognition of non-formal and informal learning;
• Build a strong cooperation between the partner organizations;
• Inform about the opportunities and the benefits of the Erasmus+ Programme.
